EN 1993-1-8 (EN 1993-1-8:2005/AC:2009)

One shear plane per bolt; VEd is distributed uniformly between identical bolts. Diameter d affects bearing, while the independent area A affects shear. Equation: F_v,Rd = alpha_v*f_ub*A/gamma_M2; F_b,Rd = k_1*alpha_b*f_u*d*t/gamma_M2

The check equations use a limited EN 1993-1-8 scope, while A, αv, αb, k1, βw and γM2 are supplied by the user after selection for the applicable geometry, material grade and National Annex. The tool does not perform complete joint design. The bolt module excludes tension, shear–tension interaction, slip, prying, bolt-group eccentricity, fatigue, block tearing, net-section checks and automatic coefficient derivation from pitches or edge distances. The weld module excludes eccentric weld-group action, the complete directional interaction check, fatigue and joint stiffness.
