The tool uses idealized thermodynamic-cycle models. The Otto, Diesel and Brayton cycles assume an ideal gas with constant thermal properties. Rankine cycles use equilibrium properties of pure water and steam from the shared Steam Tables engine. The model does not automatically include pressure losses, heat losses, mechanical and electrical efficiencies, nonequilibrium processes, leakage, extraction flows, complete regeneration or real machine maps. Treat the results as preliminary and verify them independently.
